Sentence Examples Using the Word Blonde

It’s important to note that this difference often stems from personal preferences, not grammar rules. This easy guide clarifies the difference so you can correctly describe men and women’s hair color. One argument in favor of “blond” is that it is more gender-neutral, and therefore, more inclusive. Some style guides, such as The Chicago Manual of Style, recommend using “blond” as the default spelling, particularly when referring to men or in gender-neutral contexts.

How to Use Blond and Blonde

blond or blonde hair

The ambition of going blonde seems to be a state of hair being that almost everyone goes through once in their life. Of course you could always bleach your own hair at home, but the results may not be exactly what you wanted. Whether want to achieve the buttery blonde of Marilyn Monroe or a more natural ombré blonde, there's a style and shade for you.

Warm Honey Blonde

According to Garner’s Modern American Usage [1] “blond” is the correct version to use. However, both “blond and blonde” can be used correctly depending on gender. The word blond is for males and blonde hair is for females. In Australia, if you’re a male with fair hair you are blond. Pay close attention to the gender of the subject to choose between these two words.

On the other hand, blond is the masculine noun; Men are blond. In other words, both blonde and blond are words, but using them correctly as nouns depends on gender. What’s more, the difference is regional when referring to general adjectives. For example, British English prefers blonde while American English prefers blond.

The term “blond” originated from the Old French word “blund,” which meant “yellow.” The spelling “blond” was used in English to describe fair-haired people since the 15th century. Over time, this spelling became less common, and “blonde” became more popular, especially in American English. Additional hair-related terms of blond include the noun “blondine” for hair bleach, or “peroxide blonde” for a woman who lightens their hair with peroxide. “Blondie” is also a slang term for a blond female, but it’s also a type of “dense, pale-colored” dessert (similar to a brownie). If something has a pale-yellow hue, we might call it “blonde” or “blond.” The difference is that the word “blonde” is feminine, while “blond” is masculine or gender-neutral.

Pale Blonde

Like blond/blonde, brunet and brunette are also French terms. A brown-haired man is a brunet, and a brown-haired woman is a brunette. However, brunet isn’t commonly used in American English, so you can get away with using brunette for either gender.

Commonly Misspelled Words

In general, the use of “blond” in English is less common than “blonde,” but it remains an acceptable spelling in many contexts. It’s also worth noting that some people prefer “blond” as it’s seen as more traditional or classic. Ultimately, which spelling you choose may come down to personal preference, context, or adherence to a particular style guide.

In most cases, blonde and blond are used interchangeably when not referring to hair color. The first documented use of the word blond in English was in 1481. First, “blond” spelled without an “e” is the most common spelling in the United States. It is the accepted term when the noun, or person being described, does not have a clear gender. Therefore, non-gendered or non-binary nouns can be described using the masculine form. This is perhaps because many objects and inanimate nouns are considered and treated as masculine when not specified.

And, there is another issue, which may be why blonde is disappearing in America. Some people consider it sexist to have words that are different for females. So, many Americans now say that there should be no actresses or waitresses—only actors and servers, who could be male or female—and the same for blond. You probably know that blond/blonde is an adjective describing hair of a yellow-gold color.

We advise investing in silver or violet-hued shampoo to maintain the brilliance and counteract brass (especially if your natural hair color is darker) in between salon visits. Mushroom blonde is probably one of the biggest hair color trends swirling about this summer, and for good reason. The color melt technique is a popular way to nail this look because it concentrates on lighter shades at the bottom of the hair with a gradient effect from the root to strands. It’s one of the most fuss-free hair services you can choose from, and it complements the multifaceted ‘shroom shades beautifully.

But what each of these terms implies is the color “blond” or “blonde,” a gendered term for pale-yellow hues. Both “blonde” and “blond” are correct, though which is best to use depends on the circumstance. Finding the best shade of blonde for your skin tone might seem intimidating, but all you really need to do to figure it out is identify whether you have a warm or cool undertone. “Generally, people with warm undertones look best with warm blonde shades like honey and golden blonde,” Abby Haliti, French balayage and color expert and owner of NYC's Abby Haliti Color Studio, tells Glamour. Warm undertones usually have yellow, peachy, and/or golden tones in their skin. “Those with cool undertones, like pink or blue, tend to suit cooler blonde shades like platinum or ash blonde,” she says.

Neutral Blonde

Blonde has always been Rachel McAdam's go-to color, but our favorite iteration is this version with a warm ginger tint. In ultra-cool, French-girl fashion, Clémence Poésy takes the concept of strawberry blonde and cranks it up to a billion. Back in the '90s, Madonna proudly showed off Marilyn Monroe-esque butter blonde curls. An ‘s’ isn’t necessary when describing a group of similar men or women. However, in practice, blond is becoming the default in America, while blonde is becoming the default in the UK.

What is the difference between blonde and blond?

As you see, there’s no difference at all when it comes to the definition or how blond is used in both forms of written and spoken English. Blond is technically considered a variant of the more popular term blonde and is commonly used as an adjective more than a noun. So, if you’d like to be true to the French roots, you can use “blonde” for women and “blond” for men. On the other hand, supporters of “blonde” argue that it is the more commonly used and widely accepted spelling in modern English, particularly in American English. They also suggest that “blonde” is the more elegant and feminine spelling, and therefore, preferable when referring to women or feminine objects.

It is important to consider these factors when using the word in order to ensure clear and effective communication. “Balayage lasts for between 3-6 months, whereas highlights need a touch up every 4-6 weeks, so you can save money with a balayage with more infrequent salon visits,” she says. Ultimately, whether “blond” or “blonde” is correct depends on the specific context and stylistic preferences of the speaker or writer. As with many language debates, there may not be a clear-cut answer, and the decision may come down to personal preference or adherence to a particular style guide.

But, this distinction has largely fallen out of fashion, unlike blond and blonde—and unlike fiancé and fiancée. Another bleach and tone example, this striking blonde has been bleached to a pale yellow and toned with an ash or silver toner to create a grayish hue. If you choose to rock this look, prepare for some serious commitment when it comes to your maintenance routine.

A “blond” (or “blonde”) is a person with hair that is yellow-ish in color. “Blond” and “blonde” can also be used as adjectives to describe this color, and can refer to hair, wood, beer, fabric, or other items. The debate over whether “blond” or “blonde” is the correct spelling for fair hair color has been ongoing for many years.

Therefore, minor conventions such as differentiating blond from blonde can sometimes fall away as one spelling is preferred over the other. While gender rarely affects word spellings in English, it is more influential in other languages such as Spanish and French. In the case of blond and blonde, we have one of our occasional intersections with these other languages. As society trends more gender-neutral language, it will be interesting to see whether or not these and other words maintain these extraneous, confusing, and often just conventional distinctions in gender. Who knows, maybe in the future having a blonde moment will refer to occasions when people insist on fussing about the differences between blond vs. blonde. And of course, she had to represent the brunette Shania we know and love, with flowing goddess waves in her natural warm brown hue, brought to life with dense toffee-coloured money piece highlights.

Soft Yellow Platinum Blonde

For example, in American English, the word “truck” means a large vehicle used for transporting goods, while in British English, it refers to a smaller vehicle used for carrying goods. Blond or blonde is a word that has been in use for centuries. In this section, we will explore the origins of this word and how it has evolved over time. This buttery caramel shade on Dormer plays nicely with warm skintones. Miley Cyrus's golden blonde adds the perfect level of dimension to her glossy curls.

The use of these terms can be traced back to the Middle Ages, with the French word blund or blont meaning a color midway between golden and light chestnut. This later evolved into the current spellings which are used in English today, although the gender distinction has become less rigid over time. However, there has been some dispute about the use of blond and blonde as gendered nouns. The American Heritage Book of English Usage concluded that using blonde solely for women was linked to sexist stereotypes. That is, of course, unless they are particularly marketed toward a female audience. “Blonde” is very common when talking about hair products, dyes, or even brownies.

So, if you don’t know, use blond in US English and blonde for UK English.

There's nothing wrong with skipping a color appointment when those dark roots make your blonde look that much better. However, both blond and blonde can also be used as a default spelling for everyone. As it turns out, both spellings of this word can be correct; however, they aren’t interchangeable. Neither is necessarily a misspelling, but you also can’t substitute one for the other in all contexts.

Balayage often has a rootier look, without being full-on ombre. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this violet-tinged shampoo is the ultimate brass-blocker I’ve found. Colorists swear by it — even to use in place of an actual toner. This formula will help keep the mushroom tones nice and ashy and will counteract brass. Her chunky, painterly highlights are striking, yet natural looking.

In the UK, the spelling of blonde is the same as in the United States, which is “blonde” for females and “blond” for males. However, the usage of the two is not strictly followed, and many people use them interchangeably. Blond and blonde are both adjectives used to describe hair color. While they are often used interchangeably, there is a subtle difference between the two.

Bronde (you guessed it, a slightly blonder brunette shade) is a great option for those on a budget or those who don’t want to fuss with frequent salon appointments to deal with roots. It adds just a touch of dimension and brightness to your natural (or color-treated) hue without a huge investment or commitment. This bronde shade has a pop of blonde with cascading, ultra-thin “ribbon highlights” position around the entire head (as opposed to accent highlights) where the sun would naturally hit.

Let's keep the pretentiousness as weird as can be. If you haven't already, then it's time to venture to the Katy Trail Ice House located in Uptown Dallas just off the actual Katy Trail (well named, I know). A beer garden with a woodsy vibe, the indoor-outdoor Ice House opened in March to a Dallas crowd positively obsessing over the relaxed down home atmosphere.

Straw-like in color with a dense white head, this medium-bodied brew has a light, pleasant malt aroma with a hint of sweetness and faint bitterness. It is clean, well-balanced and suitably carbonated for a crisp, refreshing feel. My wife and I just got new bikes and rode on the Katy Trail today. In addition to its paved surface, the 3.5-mile route includes an adjacent soft-surface track for runners and walkers. The pathway runs between Dallas' West End and the AA Center arena, traversing the city's urban core past Knox Street, Southern Methodist University, and the Mockingbird DART Station.

Drinks and beer selection are solid. The service isn’t great, though. Generally slow and most of the staff is rude. Bright, crisp afternoons are begging to be spent on the patio of the Katy Trail Ice House. On a sunny Saturday, throw on some shades and wander over to this casual, Austin-style joint.

This is a classic "RR right of way turned trail" as it runs through a heavily treed area from downtown toward the urban burbs and SMU. There's a very slight rise from the south end up to the trail, then it's virtually flat. There are rush hours, but it's mostly just fine.

A full food menu that's squarely "pub-grub" status, but very good. Tasty food (although pricey for what you’re getting) and the atmosphere is unmatched. Always a great place to come when the weather is nice, but know you’ll be waiting a while for a table.

Miller Lite is a pilsner-style beer brewed with choice hops, the finest blend of American-grown barley malts and pure, soft water. Full bodied, flavors of dark fruit and toasted wood. Made from yellow corn, malted barley, wheat, rye and limestone filtered water, and aged in charred oak barrels for a smooth, mature flavor. Can be used in cocktails but is also delicious neat.

Is usually very crowded after work so slow down and enjoy he ride. This is a lovely, easy urban ride, usually quite busy but manageable traffic. Lots of walkers with dogs and people to dodge but mostly disciplined users who keep right and expect to be passed on the left. Separate path for walkers in quite a bit of it.

Packed to the brim with Vic Secret, Citra & Mosaic hops and overflowing with heady tropical flavors making for the perfect haze sesh. A white wine with notes of melon, citrus, apple, and pear. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, and crisp with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas. Shiner Bock is a distinctive, rich, full-flavored, deep amber-colored beer with an inviting smooth taste without excessive bitterness. This Imperial Red Ale is malt-forward with elements of caramel and the sweetness of light brown sugar. Michelob Ultra appeals to beer drinkers interested in a superior tasting light beer that promotes an active, social lifestyle.

Runs through beautiful neighbourhoods and by interesting eateries. Starts near the Magnolia Dart station with parking in nearby city park with baseball field and abruptly ends near the AA stadium. A very pale wheat beer low in alcohol with light bread and clean lactic sour flavors. Eastciders Original is a blend of American dessert apples and European bittersweets, available in 16oz cans. It’s dry and light, fresh and fruity, the perfect cider any time of year. The Katy Trail is a privately-maintained public park that extends 3.5 miles from SMU at its north end to the American Airlines Center in the south.

Drinks

I love that it has a walking lane separate from the bike lane. My only complaint is that it is hard to find parking since it is mostly in the city and surrounded by residential area. The Katy Trail in Dallas is a premier urban trail, linking the business district with recreational opportunities, shopping, and residential neighborhoods. The corridor is the perfect non-motorized route for families to commute between home and work or school, as well as to recreation and entertainment venues.

Katy Trail Ice House is a restaurant located on the trail where people of all ages, genders, and types gather to drink cold beer, eat good food, and play a few games. I use this trail as part of my route when riding my bicycle around the Dallas area. It's usually very crowded with pedestrians, so it's a great place to slow down and recover a bit. SMU and Downtown Dallas are easily accessible from this trail. I usually arrive from downtown (Houston St.). My route also includes the Trinity Trail system, Santa Fe Trail, and White Rock Lake and Creek trails.Very Good Trail for a leisurely bike ride.

Girls were never worried about seeing other girls at the prom with their dress because Tosca kept a record of what dresses were sold to which schools. Bridal Gallery did, and is going to keep that policy now that they have re-opened. The outside portion of the bar has a dirt floor, so dress accordingly. Guys are seen in their usual button downs, girls wear cute, casual sundresses by day and flowing tops by night. Let's all make it a personal goal to never wear high heels there, and live in Sperry's and Rainbows.

This whiskey offers up baking spices on the nose, a butterscotch mouth feel and a long finish. Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. Mildly bitter taste, fresh, fruity aroma, bright color and clarity are obtained using only the purest water, hops and barley malt. Corona's aroma is fruity-honey with a touch of malt and the flavor is crisp and well-balanced between hops and malt, toward the malt side.

I'd recommend skipping outdoor dining from April to May.Portion size on onion rings is just three pieces... Dry and acidic wine with herbal and tropical fruit notes. The most ubiquitous symbol in Baja California is undoubtedly that of Tecate Beer, the cerveza that is a source of pride to Baja California people. Corona Light has approximately 30% less calories than Corona Extra but keeps the same refreshing flavor. Brewed with oats and spiced with orange peel and coriander. An unfiltered wheat ale spiced in the Belgian tradition.

This degree of definition will help prospective agencies understand the successes, challenges and opportunities of your company or brand, and whether they may be the right fit for you. Compose a detailed explanation of your brand or company, its mission and its audiences. A design-build firm removes all of that back and forth, and brings design and construction under one roof. Perhaps the greatest benefit of a design-build firm is that you are connecting with just one team throughout your entire custom home build or home remodeling project. As we mentioned above, a design-build firm generally means less control for the homeowner, which is great if that’s what you want. However, if you know you want to be hands-on with your construction project, take that into consideration when choosing between design-build or the typical design, bid, and build.

• Consider your degree of commitment to the idea of launching your own design firm. Start your own small business only if you are truly passionate about what you are doing. Knowing your budget helps you understand what’s realistic for the type of firm you’ll select. Budget estimates also help agencies understand whether they’ll have the appropriate staff for the relationship and whether the budget meshes with the work required. Having the eyes of a separate general contractor and architect could mean more objective observations about how your project is progressing.

It’s critical to have a system in place early on so that you can create and manage your budget, set rates, send and pay invoices, and file taxes. There are a host of business apps that designers use to help simplify operations, particularly accounting functions. Check out apps like Ivy, a software tool made specifically for designers, or general accounting and project-management tools like Xero and Honeybook that will help streamline business functions and make your life a whole lot easier. Every residential construction project is different — there are often hiccups in the building process and schedule.

Often with the traditional design, bid, and build workflow, a change to your project will require some back and forth between architect and general contractor to see what’s possible and what the best way forward is. With a design-build firm, you have your architect and builder already working together and abreast of the project. “Pretty much within a couple of days we can have everything sorted out,” said Gary.

The person you hire should be asked to sign an NDA statement to the effect that he or she understands that this project requires confidentiality. How Big is a Cruise Ship?

cruise liner size

The average cruise ship is around 900 feet long, but sizes can vary greatly depending on the cruise line and specific ship. It also goes to show that newer, larger ships with more people don't automatically mean more crowded. Elation started sailing in 1998 and many larger ships built more recently have higher ratios.

Questions About Cruising Answered (Everything You Wanted to Know)

Families with children may also prefer larger ships, as they often have more kid-friendly activities and facilities. The size of the ship can greatly impact the itinerary and ports of call that are available to passengers. As someone who has been on multiple cruises, I have experienced firsthand the differences in itineraries and ports of call based on ship size. Take a look below at our illustrated timeline of the largest ocean liners in history and cruise ship size chart.

How Big Is a Whale Compared to a Cruise Ship?

After 75 years, the world’s oldest cruise ship — Astoria — was scrapped in 2023. It entered service in 1948 as Swedish American Line’s Stockholm and ended with the bankruptcy of Cruise and Maritime Voyages in 2021. Size isn’t everything, but when it comes to cruise ships, it can certainly be impressive. Here’s a look at how big cruise ships are, on every scale imaginable.

LNG is a relatively new fuel source for cruise ships and is used to power the latest ships such as P&O Cruises’ Iona, Costa Smeralda and others. Before Icon, Wonder of the Seas was the biggest in the fleet, with a gross tonnage of 236,857 GT. Launched in June 2017, this Oasis-class ship has a gross tonnage of 228,081 GT. Even after a cruise ship is retired, it can go on operating like that of Queen Mary, which currently serves as a dry-docked hotel in Long Beach, California. However, most ships eventually make it to the scrapyard when all is said and done, where parts are sold, recycled or dismantled and melted down into new steel. The heaviest cruise ship built to date — Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas — currently weighs in at 250, 800 GRT.

Finding your cruise bliss starts by picking the right-size ship

Carnival Cruise Line is known for its fun and lively atmosphere, and the line's ships reflect that. The line's largest ships, the Vista-class ships, have a passenger capacity of over 3,900. Other popular ships in the Carnival fleet include Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream, and Carnival Horizon. These ships offer a range of activities and amenities, including water parks, mini-golf courses, and more. In conclusion, understanding cruise ship sizes is an important part of choosing the right cruise for your needs.

Length, Width, and Height: Measuring a Cruise Ship’s Proportions

cruise liner size

The Oasis Class boasts 18 total decks, lengths up to 1,188 feet and up to 6,988 passengers — that’s 10 times the passenger capacity of the Love Boat. Royal Carribean has cleared staked out the super-sized ships as their calling card. The main exception is Carnival which has ships in the 6000+ passenger category. The reason these cruise lines are not building the enormous ships is most likely because they are competing for a passenger looking for a different kind of service. Please note that the specific size ranges for each category may vary depending on different sources and cruise lines.

Her lifelong passion for travel has taken her to countless destinations around the globe, but cruising, undeniably, holds a special place in her heart. Judith has embraced the elegance of luxury liners, relished the intimacy of boutique ships, and marveled at the innovation found on the newest megaships. This varied experience makes her a well-rounded and knowledgeable commentator on everything cruise-related.

Chances are you aren’t going to cozy up with any of the other passengers and you probably won't see the same people more than once unless they are in a cabin next to you. They have a much more intimate atmosphere to them where you might make friends, but they do cost a great deal more. However, they can compensate for this limitation by increasing their height and breadth, resulting in a significant growth in internal volume. The economy of scale has shown that accommodating more passengers onboard can help maximize revenue.

While most ships are built with two passengers in mind for the cabin, Disney is obviously much more focused on families. That means ships are designed with more passengers in mind per cabin, reducing the double occupancy rate (which is just the number of cabins times two people). That’s why we calculated this ratio for more than 100 cruise ships across multiple lines. This will give you a better idea of which ships may feel more relaxed and which may feel more crowded. The higher the ratio, the greater the size of the ship on a per-passenger basis.

Consider that the Oasis of the Seas -- the first of the largest Oasis-class vessels built by Royal Caribbean -- was built in 2009, more than a decade ago. Since then, it's had several sister ships built, that have been marginally larger at most. However, there hasn't been a significantly larger cruise ship built.

The heft of today’s seafaring leviathans is a testament to maritime engineering. Answering questions like how much cruise ships weigh and how much cruise ships weigh gives us an introduction to the sheer scale of these floating resorts. Below is a comparative analysis of some of the major players in the cruise industry and their astounding measurements. Still there are definitely some ships that carry more or fewer passengers than other ships of their size. You can sail a ship that offers more (sometimes considerably) more space per passenger.

Their newest ship, Norwegian Encore, can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers. Norwegian Cruise Line is also known for their wide range of dining options, including celebrity chef partnerships. When considering ship size, it's also important to think about your lifestyle and preferences. If you enjoy a lively atmosphere with plenty of nightlife and entertainment, larger ships are likely a better fit. If you prefer a quieter, more laid-back vacation, smaller ships may be a better fit. The draft and width of a cruise ship can also affect its size and capabilities.

Thankfully, the majority of mainstream cruise lines do not conduct transatlantic cruises in December and February. Now that you know more about some of the roughest seas in the world, you can truly appreciate just how incredible modern-day cruise ships are. These engineering marvels allow passengers to explore waters that once were feared in comfort and style. Planning a voyage can be difficult, as the waters can be calm one minute, then incredibly wavey and dangerous shortly after.

What Is Considered Rough Seas For A Cruise Ship?

It is caused by the motion of the ship on the water, which can cause the inner ear to sense movement that the eyes cannot see. Overall, cruise ship safety is taken very seriously, and passengers can feel confident that they are in good hands. With advanced technology, trained crew members, and strict safety protocols, cruise lines do everything they can to ensure a safe and enjoyable voyage for everyone on board. Winter months, especially from May through July, tend to experience the most frequent gale-strength winds.

Combine this with high wind speeds, and you get conditions that mean very few passengers will escape without experiencing rough seas in this area. The main system is known as the Douglas Sea Scale and it is used by cruise ships, as well as other vessels, to measure how difficult it will be to navigate through certain waters at a given time. Even though traversing the Bay of Biscay is common for Mediterranean-bound cruise ships departing from the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, it actually presents some incredibly rough seas.

Which ships handle rough seas the best?

She hails from the sun-kissed regions of South Florida, residing within a stone’s throw of the bustling Fort Lauderdale and Miami cruise ports. As a native Floridian, Judith’s love for the ocean and cruising extends as far back as her memory can recall. The seas around Cape Horn, located at the southern tip of South America, are notorious for being some of the roughest in the world.

The Bay of Biscay is located off the west coast of France and the north of Spain. This is an important function since they never know when they may need to change course. Cruise lines contain the latest weather forecasting equipment, with technology that is far more advanced than what you have on your phone.

Join us as we embark on an enlightening journey to discover what happens when a cruise ship encounters rough seas and how it all adds to the excitement and adventure of your cruise vacation. To counteract the rolling and pitching motion, most modern cruise ships are equipped with stabilizers or stabilisers. These are fins or wings that extend from the sides of the ship and help reduce the rolling motion. The stabilizers work by creating resistance against the water, which helps keep the ship steady.

Are Cruise Ships Safe in Rough Seas?

They often modify their sailing routes to circumvent the most severe storms, which means that cruise itineraries may be more prone to alterations during these months. These conditions can cause a cruise ship to pitch (move up and down) or roll (tilt side to side), leading to a more turbulent experience on board. Tropical typhoons and cyclones, most prevalent during the tropical storm season from July to November, are the primary causes of the biggest waves in this region. This area, part of the northwest Pacific Ocean, is known for its susceptibility to storms throughout the year, potentially leading to rough sea conditions. The likelihood of encountering hurricanes and tropical storms is highest from August to September. If you’re concerned about rough waters, it’s best to stick to more protected areas of the Atlantic, such as the Caribbean or Mediterranean, where the waters are generally calmer.

The Pacific Ocean

These conditions can make the surface of the water uneven and create a challenging environment for cruise ships to navigate through. While there is no specific threshold for what constitutes rough seas, it is generally considered as conditions where the wave height is around 4-8 feet or more, accompanied by winds of knots. When planning a cruise, one of the concerns that passengers may have is the possibility of encountering rough seas. While cruise ships are designed to handle a variety of weather conditions, it is important to know what is considered rough seas and what to expect. When a cruise ship encounters rough seas, it can lead to a range of physical movements and sensations.

In general, the more northerly seas are roughest in the winter months whilst tropical areas experience the most storms between June and the end of November. While this tip won’t help you avoid rough seas and extreme weather conditions, it can help you prepare for them. Anyone who spends significant time on the water will tell you that conditions can change quickly, so you should expect the unexpected.

Listen to the daily captain’s report from the bridge, as it will contain a description of the conditions on the sea and help you decide what you need to prepare for the day. Ships will choose to dock using an alternate port, change the port’s order, or find a sunny location at sea. If they are unable to avoid the weather, the cruise line can change the itinerary.

The vessel, which is currently operating the line’s nine-month Ultimate World Cruise, got caught in rough weather off the coast of South America. Regardless of when and where you're cruise is, it's best to come prepared with some motion sickness remedies, such as over-the-counter medications like Bonine or Dramamine. Additionally, some regions are less likely to be impacted by hurricanes, such as the Southern Caribbean. The majority of hurricanes tend to make landfall in The Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean, including the British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, etc. The Mediterranean Sea is another one of those extremely popular cruise destinations that may surprise you to see on this list.

It is a place preserved for peace and science that does not belong to any one person or nation, a paragon of cooperation, and shimmering symbol of hope for all humanity.
